Driving Alpine Loop Scenic Byway | Fall colors in Park City, Utah

Driving along Cascade Scenic Drive

Sunday drive along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway

Last Sunday I set out to with my girlfriend and dog to take an afternoon drive on the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway.  This is one of the most scenic drives in Utah and is an incredible place to go as the fall colors start to peak.  Our goal was to catch some of the fall colors and our trip did not disappoint.

We left Park City around 3pm and headed towards Sundance Resort.  The Alpine Loop officially starts as you turn onto the road towards Sundance.  After heading up the canyon and enjoying the incredible views of Mount Timpanogos we reached the summit.  You basically have two options at this point.  You can head west and down American Fork Canyon or you can turn right on Cascade Scenic Drive and head east towards the Heber | Midway Valley.  We chose to head down Cascade Scenic Drive and explore Cascade Springs.

The parking lot was packed as many others had the same idea on this beautiful fall day.  Cascade Springs is just a short hike from the lower parking lot.  I highly recommend stopping by Cascade Springs as you are driving the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway.  After visiting Cascade Springs we packed up and headed home towards Park City, arriving shortly before 7pm.

Note:  This drive does include dirt | gravel roads, narrow spots, and some steep drop offs.  Make sure to use caution when enjoying the scenery.  I have included a google map of our trip here.

Enjoy the pictures and have a great weekend.  Let us know if you have any real estate questions in the Park City | Wasatch Front area.
