We hope everyone enjoyed their New Years.  We have plenty of fun events around town this week.  Take a look below for this week’s Park City Events:

January 8th:  2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup – Free Concert

The world’s best freestyle skiers come together this winter for the 2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup at Deer Valley Resort. Please join us in welcoming Big Head Todd and the Monsters for a live performance on Park City’s lower Main Street to celebrate the opening of the 2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup event. Come and enjoy a longtime favorite just prior to their new album release! Festivities will begin at 7 pm and conclude at approximately 10 pm with fireworks. Park City’s own Junior and Transportation will open the celebration on Main Street. The National Anthem will be performed by a local student Austin Wolfe.

January 8th-11th:  2014 FIS Freestyle World Cup

The FIS Freestyle World Cup is the world’s most prestigious freeski athletic competition outside of the Olympics and will include aerials, moguls and dual moguls competitions at Deer Valley Resort. Catch the worlds top athletes as they perform to be selected to their countires 2014 Winter Olympics Team.

January 9th:  2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup – Mogul Comp

The World Cup begins with the first Mogul competition on Deer Valley’s Champion ski run. The Men’s and Ladies’ Mogul Finals will begin at 7 pm.

January 10th:  2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup – Aerial Comp

The Aerial Finals will take place under the lights on Deer Valley’s White Owl run beginning at 7 pm.

January 11th:  2014 FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup – Mogul Comp

The Men’s and Ladies’ Mogul Finals will begin at 7 pm.

January 10th-12th:  Park City Film Series – The Armstrong Lie

This is a riveting, insider’s view of the unraveling of one of the most extraordinary stories in the history of sports. In 2009 Alex Gibney was hired to make a film about Lance Armstrong’s comeback to cycling. The project was initially shelved when the extraordinary doping scandal erupted, but filming of this personal and international media drama continued after Armstrong’s confession.

Enjoy the week and think snow!
