July 13th:  Deer Valley Concerts – Take 5

Park City’s favorite local musical group, TAKE 5 has been entertaining audiences for years with its smooth, spicy, unique style of great Standards in Jazz, Blues, Bossa Nova, and R&B. Inspired by the music that we have all grown up with, loved, and danced to, and inspired by the likes of BB King, Sinatra, Bennett, Gilberto and Jobim, this group has put together a swinging sound that brings you to eras of the past with a creative taste of the present as represented in their original compositions. The blending of this talent is composed of musicians originally from New Orleans, Toronto, Southern California, Atlanta, the Northeast and the Mountain West, providing the “roux” for its original sound. Take 5 is headlined by John Lambert on vocals, Dave Packham, the band’s lyricist and songwriter on piano, Ari Ioannides on drums, Andrew Frink on stand-up bass, Dave Terran on trumpet and John Flanders on sax. The only band in Park City, UT playing the great jazz standards, Take 5 has had the pleasure of performing for the Park City Jazz Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Sundance Resort, Stein Eriksen Lodge, Park City’s Mountain Town Music, Deer Valley Resort, Homestead Resort, Park City Mountain Resort, Talisker Corporation, Bill White Enterprises, the Park City Education Foundation, and numerous other events, large and small, in and around the Park City and Salt Lake City areas. Deer Valley’s Gourmet Picnic Baskets and Bags are available for purchase. All orders must be placed and purchased by 5 p.m. the day prior to the event. For further information, please call 435-645-6613.

July 14th:  Newpark Concerts – Finnders & Youngberg

Colorado’s Finnders & Youngberg proudly swim in the deep currents of American music-classic bluegrass, tried-and-true honky tonk, country swing and skillfully spun folk tales. While their sound evokes timelessness, it is decidedly contemporary, well-traveled 21st century sensibility that informs their songwriting. Their tunes draw on the bumps, bruises and laugh lines earned when we find ourselves in the “bogs” of back roads, dive bars and long, lonesome nights.
