June 22nd: Deer Valley Wednesday Concert – Lash LaRue
We were all working hard on the trail when dark, smoldering clouds converged somewhere out on the great big empty and told us to start playing a new sound in the silver-lined hills of Park City. Karri Dell was the first to unsaddle her old timey fixins and get to playing with some extra metal induced sounds. Jack was always there to hit the down and low as his songwriting was beginning to take a front seat with the viper switch. And Mr. Viar was just laughing like his hyena animal spirit all the way down to the groove corral. Cole was in from the git’ go when he realized he could keep his hands a pickin’ that vintage avocado Gretsch on a regular basis. His bends for that lonesome blue sound are just too close to his sweet, sentimental heart. It was Elaine who pulled the team together and into the barn with her smokey, sorrowful and tender call. Lash LaRue was born with the spirit of the west in its mournful heart and the whip in its seductive hand and that is where we will hang our black, sultry hats till the herds are driven to higher pastures. Deer Valley’s Gourmet Picnic Baskets and Bags are available for purchase. All orders must be placed and purchased by 5 p.m. the day prior to the event. June 23rd: Newpark Concert Series – The Hollering Pines
The original Songs of The Hollering Pines artfully present stories of long nights, short lives, and spilled chances. Sisters Kiki Jane Sieger and Marie Bradshaw build on the blood-tight harmonies of the past while M. Horton Smith’s mandolin sweetens the sound. Drummer Daniel Young sings and lays down the back beat, and Dylan Schorer’s electric and lap steel guitar embroidery rounds things out, pulling The Hollering Pines closer to the dim lights and thick smoke of a neon roadhouse. Inspired by Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Buddy Miller, Their brand of Americana draws on the strength of a tube driven radio signal, parting the sea of static, bouncing off of heaven and back to earth.
June 26th: Park Silly Market
The Park Silly Sunday Market is an eco friendly, open-air market and street festival. It is a treasure box that features unique and eclectic-local and regional arts and crafts, music and performance art, antiques, imports and one-of-a-kind finds, delicious gourmet foods, and farmers market fruits and vegetables. It is as unique as it’s town is.
Enjoy your week!
