Skiing down the slopes on one of those warmer days of spring, you won’t have to look far for some added entertainment. The longer days and warmer weather bring some of the biggest events of the season. March 20th marks the official first day of Spring bringing average high temperatures in Park City to around 52F. Here’s where you can find what warmer weather means for us & the upcoming 2013 Spring Events at Park City Mountain Resort, and Canyons Resort.

Spring GRÜV – Canyons Resort
March 22, 2013 to March 31, 2013
(event information from www.canyonsresort.com) Canyons presents the 6th annual Spring GRÜV. For 10 days they’ll be having huge, free concerts in the Resort Village, as well as the famous Pond Skimming Contest!
Saturday, March 23 – Pond Skimming Contest & Free Concert by North Mississippi Allstars. The Pond Skimming Contest is Canyons’ most popular party. Contestants must dress in costume (the funkier the better) as they attempt to cross a 100-foot pond on skis or a snowboard. The pond and the excitement happen at mid-mountain just outside Red Pine Lodge. After an unforgettable day of Pond Skimming, keep on Grüvin’ with a free concert by North Mississippi Allstars in the Resort Village starting at 3 p.m.
Sunday, March 24 – Free Concert by Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band. After a great day of skiing and riding, take off your boots, and put on your dancing shoes for a free concert by Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band in the Resort Village starting at 3 p.m.
Saturday, March 30 – Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge & Free Concert by Toots & The Maytals. Back for year two, Canyons will be hosting the 2013 Operation Smile Celebrity Ski Challenge. A fun and exciting fundraiser to benefit children around the world who are born with cleft lips and cleft palates, whose parents can’t afford the surgery they so desperately need. Come race with current and former Olympians and celebrities! Then, hit up the Resort Village for a live concert at 3 p.m.! Toots & The Maytals, originally called simply The Maytals, are considered legends of ska and reggae music.
Sunday, March 31 – Free Concert by Eufórquestra. After a great day of skiing and riding, take off your boots, and put on your dancing shoes for a free concert by Eufórquestra in the Resort Village starting at 3 p.m.

Monday, March 25, 2013 to Thursday, March 28, 2013
(event information from www.parkcitymountain.com) A weeklong event of “snowday” celebrations from 3 – 5 p.m. at Park City Mountain Resort.
Monday, March 25 – Avy Dog Meet & Greet at the Base of Eagle and First Time Chairlifts. Meet the cutest Park City Mountain Resort Team Members: their Avalanche Dogs!
Tuesday, March 26 – Carnival and Parade at the Resort Base Area. Watch as the kids from our Signature Programs form a parade, followed by a carnival for the whole family.
Wednesday, March 27 – Songs from the Slopes and Apres Karaoke. Find the karaoke Caravan on the mountain and show off your voice to the resort! If you didn’t get enough singing on the mountain, then, grab a slice from PayDay Pizza and sing your hardest, while checking out all the rock star performances from Songs from the Slopes.
Thursday, March 28 – Drum to the Snow Gods at the Resort Plaza. Beat out a call to the snow gods by joining in a drum circle.
